John Aldridge: Liverpool FC should sign Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain
IT is incredible the amount of bad luck Liverpool FC have had at home this season, it is amazing. But you can’t put your finger on why it keeps happening to them. The only thing we do know is that Liverpool need a striker to start sniffing out the goals. If the Reds had someone who could convert the countless chances they have created then the team would be a lot further up the table. Kenny Dalglish and the Liverpool hierarchy are well aware of this and know that they need to break the bank to find that goalscorer. You feel that a top side needs to have three or four strikers they can rotate. Certainly Liverpool need a goalscorer. I don’t know who the club may have in mind but I like the look of Gonzalo Higuain at Real Madrid. He doesn’t play an awful lot at the Bernabeu but he would be brilliant for us. But would he come? Would Real release him? And how much would be cost? But there are players out there. Just look at the business Newcastle United did in January by bringing in Papiss Cisse. There are players out there who fit the bill but it is all about having the right scouting network in place.
