There’s no easing up for Liverpool FC, says Glen Johnson

GLEN JOHNSON is determined to avoid another hard luck story at Norwich City today to ensure Liverpool go into FA Cup final week on a high. The full-back admits last weekend’s home defeat to West Brom was tough to take as the Reds failed to make their dominance count. But Johnson insists Kenny Dalglish’s men are ready to bounce back at Carrow Road as they look to step up their preparations for next weekend’s Wembley showdown with Chelsea. “We’ve been playing well but not winning games,” Johnson said. “We have to keep working hard and hopefully some luck will come our way. “Last weekend was the best we have played for a while but we ended up losing - that’s football. “I think we’ve hit the woodwork more than anyone and if we had scored half of those chances we would have had another 15 to 18 points. “Norwich have done well since coming up and have got some good players but we’re going there for the win. “The more wins we can pick up before the Cup final will build confidence and then we’ll go into the final feeling good. “We’re not going to make the top four but we want to finish as high as we can.” Despite Liverpool’s wretched home form, only Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal have won more league games on their travels this season. And Johnson wants to reward those Reds supporters who make the 500-mile round trip to Norwich for the 5.30pm kick-off with maximum points. “The fans pay their money and go through a lot of hassle with all the travelling so it’s always nice to put on a show for them,” Johnson added. “I’m sure they would take an ugly performance and all three points but ideally we want to play well and win. “We’ve watched the videos of Norwich and we know they like to play their football. They don’t ever just go out to defend.”
